Building an event program
Add songs, headings and notes; select arrangements and set the order.
Three main item types
A program is an ordered list. A song comes from the library and has a selected arrangement and key. A section heading organizes successive parts of the program. A note stores text entered for this event, such as an introduction, instructions for the presenter or an organizational point.
A heading visually includes the items up to the next heading. Moving a song therefore changes its position in the program and its displayed grouping. This does not create a nested folder. Well-chosen headings help participants quickly find the current part.
Add a song from the library
Access to an event does not always include the entire library. Selecting another arrangement may require additional permission for the source song. An item may be missing from the list because it is archived or outside your access scope.
- In the event, open Program and choose to add a song or text.
- Search by title or author, using the key filter and sorting if needed.
- Select the correct song, then its arrangement and key.
- Check the tempo, meter and duration shown before adding.
- Confirm your choice and check the item in the program list.
The key of a program item
An item's key describes this performance. It may differ from the song's base key and the key saved in the arrangement. If there is one source suggestion, the app may propose it; if there are several, deliberately choose the appropriate one.
Changing the key field alone does not automatically transpose chords or an attached PDF. Before rehearsal, open the document and compare its notation with the program description. Prepare the appropriate material variant if the performance will use another key.
Organize and edit items
- Add the headings and notes you need.
- Drag an item's handle on the web or use the available move buttons.
- When using a keyboard, use the reordering actions available at the handle.
- Edit the specific item to correct its information instead of accidentally changing the source library.
- Check the sequence from first to last item and the duration totals.
The program keeps its own saved content
Adding a song to a program preserves the selected information at planning time. A later library edit therefore need not alter a completed event. When editing the source, you can separately choose to update future occurrences. Do not assume every song change appears immediately in every plan.
Removing an item from the program does not delete the song from the library. Similarly, editing a note affects that note. Keep track of where you are making a change, especially when the same song appears in several events or several times in one program.
