Media and attachments

Upload files, assign them to songs and select document pages or recording excerpts.

Original files and links

Media stores files. A link assigns a specific file to a song or arrangement and may identify selected PDF pages or a recording excerpt. The same original can be used in several places without an unnecessary copy of its content.

Unlinking a file from a song does not delete its original from Media. Deleting the original has broader consequences for links. Before using the trash icon, read the operation description and check whether you only want to tidy one song's details.

Add a file to a song

  1. Open the song details and choose Add files.
  2. Select a file from disk or an available original from Media.
  3. Wait for upload completion and preview preparation.
  4. Set the assignment to the song or a particular arrangement.
  5. If needed, choose a range and fill in the display name, author or description.
  6. Save and open the preview from the correct place in the program.

Select PDF pages

An empty range may mean the entire document, while notation such as “1-2,4” identifies pages in the chosen order. Where thumbnails are available, use them to check page numbers. After saving, compare the preview with the original.

The range controls presentation, not a new license for the document. Do not assume hidden pages were removed from the original. If sharing the whole file would not be permitted, prepare the appropriate document beforehand in accordance with the organization's rights.

An audio or video excerpt

You can set an excerpt's start and end using sliders or time fields if the preview provides them. Playback respects the selected range but does not permanently trim or transcode the original. Playability depends on the device's supported codecs.

Test the excerpt on the device used at rehearsal. The same container format does not guarantee the same codec. If video or audio fails, keep the format, browser and device information; uploading an identical file again may change nothing.

Why a file is missing from the main list

A file uploaded directly to a song may remain visible in its details without appearing in the main Media library. This does not mean saving failed. A file uploaded through Media and then assigned to a song retains its own visibility.

Before uploading again, check song and arrangement attachments. If a transfer is interrupted, use available resume options and wait for readiness. An entry in the list during upload does not guarantee the file can already be opened.
