Writing lyrics and chords

Readable documents with chords above words, sections and comments.

Enter a chord before its position in the text

You write lyrics and chords together. Square brackets mark a chord placed above the following fragment, for example “[C]Razem [G]gramy”. You can also insert one within a word if a harmony change falls on a particular syllable.

The preview measures the text and places chords above the indicated position. Do not align them manually with long runs of spaces. Dense changes may need extra vertical space; check the layout at the target page size.

Sections and comments

Standalone part names such as ZWROTKA 1, REFREN or BRIDGE are recognized as headings. You can also use the explicit notation “{section: Refren}”. A part name inside an ordinary sentence should not turn the whole line into a heading.

Put a comment on a separate line, for example “{comment: ciszej}” or “{c: wejście prowadzącego}”. A comment remains an instruction and is styled differently from a section. Names entered by users are not automatically translated when the interface language changes.

Prepare and check the document

  1. Open text editing for the chosen arrangement.
  2. Enter lyrics, mark the parts and place chords in brackets before the appropriate words.
  3. Use the notation help to check chord and comment examples.
  4. Choose the preview before saving and inspect every page.
  5. Return to the editor, correct wrapping or markers and save the selected scope of changes.

Readable harmonic notation

Notation can include chord variants such as m, maj7, sus or add, and a bass separated by a slash, such as G/B. Keep spelling consistent within one collection. Do not assume automatic conversion between naming systems or harmony recognition from a recording.

A chord entered in the text is document information, while the key field is a separate description. If you correct one, check the other. When importing, always compare the result with the original, because document conversion can shift chord positions.

What to check before sharing

Inspect section headings at page ends, dense chords, Polish characters and repeated fragments. Then open the result as a participant or in read-only mode. Readability in the editor does not guarantee a comfortable document with the chosen column layout.

A draft preview does not save content. Finish by submitting the form and reopening the saved material. Do not promise automatic transposition or chord diagrams: the prepared document reflects the entered content.
