Profile, password and account security
Personal details, sign-in address, active sessions and safely ending access.
Personal details belong to the whole account
The menu under your photo or initials opens your profile. You can enter your first name, surname, display name, language and available contact fields. These details apply to your account across all organizations. Editing your profile does not change just one organization's people list.
Additional contacts are for communication, not signing in. Check them before saving, especially if you use the account in several organizations. If the form offers a photo, choose a clear portrait and use cropping; setting a photo does not change permissions.
Change or recover your password
A recovery link is single-use and expires. Request a new one if it has expired. Do not share it as evidence of an error; the action name and error message are enough for a support request.
- While signed in, open account security and the password change form.
- Enter your current password if the account already has one, then a new password.
- Confirm the change and sign in again on the devices you need.
- If you have forgotten your password, choose access recovery on the sign-in screen and enter your account address.
- Open the latest link sent by email and finish the change before it expires.
Change your sign-in address
Changing your address requires verification of the new mailbox. Until that operation is complete, continue signing in with your previous address. The form may require your current password; if your account uses only Google, first set a password in the available security section.
After you verify the new address, devices may be signed out. Also check pending organization invitations, because they are addressed to a particular email address. Adding a contact address does not redirect invitations or replace changing the sign-in address.
Review activity and revoke sessions
Device names and location are hints, not a reliable identification of the hardware. A missing city does not mean sign-in failed. History shows retained successful sign-ins, not a complete record of every password attempt.
- Open the activity or security tab in My account.
- Review active sessions and recent successful sign-ins.
- Compare the approximate device name and time with your own activity.
- Sign out other devices if you no longer need their sessions or do not recognize them.
Before deleting your account
Deleting an account is separate from signing out or removing a saved session from a phone. If you own an organization, transfer ownership or close it using the appropriate form first. Shared events in other organizations are not a private copy of your account.
Read the entire confirmation and check the consequences for memberships, sessions and settings. Do not delete your account to resolve a temporary sign-in problem. Recovering your password or authenticating again is the correct first step in that situation.
